We landed in Cape Town on Sunday, Sept 22. Our flight was delayed from Botswana so we arrived quite late. We stayed with Seko and Miriam for the first two nights. We had a great couple of days with them and went out to beautiful Stellenbosch for wine tasting (I, Claire, had to have a lie down after having two samples)! We left Zimbabwe and headed west to Botswana. We spent the first few days in Kasane and Chobe national park. We did two game drives through the park and were even lucky enough to see a lion. We also went on a boat cruise through the park which gave us a great close up view of the animals. After Chobe we drove about 600kms to the Okavango delta, dodging all sorts of animals, including giraffes, crossing the road! We had an amazing time in the delta. We were paddle...

We are very grateful to have spent two days in Zimbabwe, 'back in the motherland!' The local backpackers was the local 'pub.' We had a great time with plenty of other travelers and lots of great locals. On our way back to the campsite, we were called back by a local. Experienced our second near death experience today....... Devils pool. If you have an opportunity, youtube devils pool and see what it is. It is a pool which you can swim in right on the edge of Victoria falls. Basically you have to jump into the pool and current sweeps you to a rock ledge half a metre from the edge of the falls.
