Dipped our feet in at Copacobana, visited Jesus, Lapa Steps, did a city walking tour and ate at plenty of local places and found two great new friends' Pip and Derek. We actually think that they had ran out of chicken and think they thought we wouldn't know the difference anyway! Also got woken up by a screaming person out the front of our backpackers. The person was very distressed. It was quite unsettling listening to it and we weren't sure if they were trying to get into the hostel or if they were severely injured. It went on for about 30mins (were screaming in Portuguese of course). In the morning, we asked the receptionist what had happened. He said ...'It was a... what do you say... A transvestite. He/she was angry because her husband wouldn't let her go out!'. Now off to the Pantanal and Benito, update when we can
