Hi there,
Today is my turn to write the blog and Tracey is selecting the photo's. Yesterday we left Hue to come to Hoi An, we drove along the coast line and over a number of passes, the scenery was outstanding as some of the photos will attest. The country side was very much what we had in our heads before we came, green rice padi's, ox and fishing boats. We visited a museum that housed many artifacts from the Cham era - very interesting. It took around three hours to reach Hoi an and once we arrive Trang took us to a local resturant for lunch - the food was delicious but Tracey and I had our doubts about the hygien - to date no issues.
The hotel here is right on the beach - our room is only ten steps to the sand beautiful! We spent the afternoon by the pool relaxing and swimming, in the evening we went into town and Tracey arranged to have three dresses made at a tailor - we are also having coats made, after this we walked through teh old part of town which is closed off to motor bikes so very quiet compared to Hanoi - we then had dinner at the Banana leaf that Trang suggested and again it was delicous - we sat over looking the river with lanterns as far as the eye could see, an electrical storm in the distance sipping our large mojioto (see photo) - a great way to spend the evening!!!
A day off today so into town for a look around then back to lie by the pool.
Grandma - the mop is in the outsdie shed by the back door.
Love to you all
Phil
