Our first Christmas with the new van had come and gone and we really needed to get away in it. We decided to head back to the Top 10 camp at Motutere wherwe bought the van from but the forecast was for stormy weather. Not to be deterred we headed off in mid afternoon in the for the three hour trip. Heading across the Desert road we encountered torrential rain and some surface flooding on the roads. The Jeep in four wheel drive was slipping on the ruts on the rough road and it wasn't a pleasant trip. The weather cleared before we got to the camp, enough time for us to get a site and put the awning up. Alas the rain
came again and again. A great test for the awning. We did get one awesome day and got out on the lake for a bit of fun. It wasn't the nicest way to test out the new van ... but its all part of the fun.
