Yeah man, that's so sad ay. Sometimes I just don't understand how people could do something like that. It's been really interesting looking at social psyc and how normal, "good" people can do terrible things under the pressures of social influences. But still, it's not excusable...
Good write-up about it though, and good on you for taking the time to learn more about it while you're in Rwanda.
PS: I left you another comment here yesterday, not sure if you noticed it yet.

Nice gorillas!! But the nettle sounds horrible!
Where to next?
I think I have sussed a place for us to stay (for free! yay!) while in Amsterdam, during the time that I'm there anyway...
Excited for Holland? Sad that you're leaving Africa soon?
PS: Is mum coming to the Netherlands too? I think she should!
Love you both!!
Gordon
I do appreciate the Ostriches and all the other stuff. keep going

While I remember, PLEASE change the postal address you have for me to:
Alice Banfield
9450 Gilman Dirve
PO Box 923878
La Jolla
CA 92092
Instead of the one you have now, because I gave you the I-House office addr and they get annoyed at me cos they have to email me and notify me whenever mail comes to them. Just so you know.
THANKS! Enjoy Rwanda.
Alice
And also thanks for your postcard!
Alice
Nice pix!
What date are you flying to Amsterdam? Going to scope it out before I arrive?
Thanks for your txt!
Rach
to all the girls from Ejura - awesome to hear from you!
bet its good to be home, and sad to have left Ejura (I think about it a lot, despite the short time it was like home!).
Vero - hope to see u in Belgium to eat fries and mayonaise. im flying to amsterdam early may. will u be around like mid to late may?
Charly and Caro - hope you are enjoying the freezingness of Canada! I hope it isnt as cold as high up on mt kenya, i thought my face would fall off with fright and the coldness! Wish I could come see you - please move quebec to the other side of Canada...
Noa - much as its very reassuring to have your protection, its not quite on the route... but all the best! Sad about the tan, if its any consolation, I got a real good one in the Seychelles and then my skin shed like a snake and now I'm pasty white and very much a vibrantly white 'muzungu' (abruni) as they call us here in Uganda!
xx rach
Noa
hey rachel!!
wow so jealous your trip looks amazing, i am definitely inspired - not to mention impressed, particularily by that final climb. you almost sound ready to do that bike expedition to alaska :P hehe well, yeah back from africa, and somehow i am less tanned after nearly 3 months there than the people who never left... so thats a losing battle. also i am doing my best to have some winter despite the twentysomething degree weather, its the best i can get..! take care and i will keep checking where you are. p.s. you can come to israel soon as in less then 2 weeks i will be able to personaly protect you!!

Hey Rachel!
I hope you are doing well and that you're still alive... those tortoise look kinda scary... so big! Like Caro said, we are back in Canada! It's good to see all the "weird" (like you and Noa say! lol) French Canadians again but I miss Ejura a lot.
