Whats this about a 'smidgen' of Queen's English' in my voice - golly gosh, thats not sufficient, I'll have to come over to Oxford and refresh it.. (funny though, when I got back to NZ I was surprised to find that no-one here sounded like they had an accent at all..Must be getting too familiar with good ol kiwi speak.
Hope you both enjoy the Hague and the train - maybe a little different from the Mombasa one?
love to you both

Alice
Well Lucinda, you are welcome to come hang out with me at the airport, where I will be for three hours between flights, but I still don't think that's quite enough time to make it out to see you - sorry!
You are welcome anytime in San Diego though!
Waiting In London
So, Alice, how about popping in on the way back...
Then I can give you some dollars for your sponsorship

*plane, not plan!
Nearly In Amsterdam!!
Yes, I am only 24 hours and 35 minutes away!! (Even less actually when I do the time change calculations....)
Let me see, this flight coming up is ten hours and ten minutes, then I have one hour forty-five in London (sorry Lucinda, not quite enough time to pop over to see you this time!), then one hour 15 on the plan, and then... I'm there!!
According to my calculations that is 13 hours and ten minutes - am I correct? YUSS!! See you in THIRTEEN HOURS!!
Hope you've scoped out some good "coffee shops" for us... Kidding!
I am so disappointed to hear it's cold (tho the contrast probably won't be as drastic for me as it was for you), cos I haven't really packed for it (i.e. I didn't borrow my flatmate's ski jacket and fleece which she lent me for New York / Canada / sleeping on the streets...) AAH!!
But anyway, I am SUPER EXCITED to see you - did I mention that yet? :P
Godmaother Lucinda
Darrrrling Rachel
Now you are so close to us in London, you have NO EXCUSE not to come over.....
Cannot wait to see you.

What a great summary of Africa - you about sum it up - though I don't think you've really travelled African-style until the person next to you has vomited on you! You just had it too good!
It so made my day back in cool and rainy Kerikeri to read your latest blog. It pretty well summed up Africa for me too, except for one of my highlights - you meeting me at Nairobi airport, a city I was pretty apprehensive about visiting until you sounded like an old hand and made it all seem so easy... Thanks for that.
Enjoy your last day in Africa,
love

A Jealous Sister
Rachy, that was a FANTASTIC update!! V well written. Moving without being too cheesy.
I can't wait to hear more in real life!
Alice
How come Rachy gets to hang out with you so much and not me?? :(
It's ok...
Where are you now? And when do you go back to NZ? Have you got in touch with Sarah? (She sent me an email a while ago confused about what was happening.)
Love you!
Mum
Hey Rach in Bujumbura! Yes, great commentary on the Genocide. would be intereting to learn more from Alice on the Social Psych thing one of these days as its so hard to believe people doing that stuff.
But aren't the gorillas just the cutest ? Rach has requested that there are no comments please Alice about family resemblances or whether Rach came out of the jungle or I came back with a close relation by mistake and left your sister there.
NO, won't come to Holland on this occasion as must get back to NZ, but thanks for making me feel welcome. Must go - off to the Nile for kayaking.
Looking forward to the next update of Rach's amazing travel logue to places we've never heard of!
