Ok, I have 9 minutes of free internet so will be super fast. I made it to Singapore despite totally forgetting the process of travelling, e.g. checking in and all that stuff. Slight complications with my ticket as I didn't actually have mine but was supposed to apparently but staff were very nice and I'm sure assumed that I had never left NZ before... fair enough.
Spent today wandering the streets of Singapore, riding the hop on-hop off AIR CONDITIONED bus - it is SOOOOO hot here, mainly the humidity so I guess good preparation for India! I was roasting when I got off the plane at 6am but as the day wore on the humidity and temp became pretty intense. One of the stops was at the botanical gardens, yes granny would be highly impressed I think! However, it was basically a complete maze (altho with maps and sign posts everywhere) so I got hideously lost. After 2 hours, no exaggeration, of wandering around trying to find the bus stop again, I think I was heading towards having heat stroke! I tell you all the seperate gardens looked the same to me!! Maybe granny wouldn't be so impressed after all...
To be completely honest, Singapore doesn't really do it for me. Mum, I reckon its kinda like the Seychelles in that empty way (although having given it a 6 hour chance, fair call if I'm totally wrong!), but without the tortoises. Every stop of the bus, apart from the mazelike gardens, was a shopping mall stop... for a student/backpacker (aka doubly poor) there wasn't that much to do. So, can't say I'm exactly counting down the days until I get to spend 26 hours here on the way back, but hey, at least its not flooding and cold Auckland!
Anyway, only got 3 mins left and I'm highly busy and important (ok so I may have 7 more hours to wait...) but better go. Next update from the world of mango lassi drinking...
