Hey everyone, i did try to update the blog 3 days ago but the computer wiped it, very annoyed. Anyway, had an absolutely lovely time at Di and Tim's. Neighbours night in melbourne was excellent. Sorry the pics are so dark, they looked better on my camera. On our first full day in melbourne we took a nice walk along the river and then went to the botanic gardens and on our second day we went to the art gallery.
On the 3rd we spent 13 hours on a coach getting from melbourne to sydney. It was very boring. And we had to be at the station at 7am, which meant getting up at 5. Not fun.
Our first day in sydney we got the tube to martin place and then walked to circular quays and wandered around the rocks. Which was where the first Europeans landed when they came to australia. Now though it is mostly modern shops, cafes, art shops. Stuff like that, a bit posh for us poor travellers. But they had a museum which was free. Then we went to the opera house and took some pics. We went out for a drink in the evening with a couple of guys from our room.
Yesterday we went back to circular quays to meet my friend francine from uni. It was so nice to see her again. Her sister nat had arrived in sydney that morning, to visit francine, so it was nice to see her aswell. We had a long lunch and then went back to the hostel and chilled out for a bit. Then we walked to oxford street, where mike lives (welsh guy francine is seeing) for a terrace bbq. We stayed for a bit and had a few drinks.
Today we met francine and nat at 10am at the opera house and then walked through the botanic gardens. Today was the first australian red bull flugtag. Which is basically people making their own flying machines and "flying" in them off a six metre platform into the sea. It was very amusing to watch. Most of them just plummeted, a couple got a bit of gliding in. I think the furthest was about 25metres. It was a really lovely day to be sitting in the botanical gardens. There were 50,000 people there.
We said goodbye to francine, nat and mike and got the bus to bondi beach, just to say we have been there. It was half four when we got there and quite cold so we didn't stay that long.
Tomorrow we are booked to go to the blue mountains for the day and on tuesday morning we fly to new zealand. Can't believe how quickly australia has gone.
Love you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
