hello again sorry its been a while iv been rather busy which ill try and fill you in you also might notice iv added a large amount of photos so it would be kinda useful if you knew what they were about. well the last time i left you a journal i had just entered argentina after my trips to iguazu falls (by the way got the number of how many water falls there are there wrong its actually something like 250) after that i travel up north to a town called salta. we camped there but i wouldnt really call it a camp site more like a place pretending to be one. its actually an out door swimming pool place and its the largest in south america it was empty and apparently takes 4 days to fill! salta was the place i first truly expirenced stake eating i ordered a sirlion what i got was two huge pieces of meat. you could only have one on your main plate at a time (which was more like a plater) and if you would put them together i swear they would reach a combined lenght of 1 meter. i also had chips and ate every last drop. big mistake it absoloutly killed me for a week. i did a horse riding trip into the land sorrounding salta which was great fun riding past fields of tobacco and occasionly riding into a tobacco factory we also got to get our horses to gallope down a football pitch many times (this was quite painful at times and i regret wearing vaguely tight boxer and the combination of half a cow in side me didnt help either) but it was great fun! we then got back to the ranch and had some food and a large quantety of wine. many a bottle was soon empty and everyone was singing merrily. the bus ride back was definately interesting and you shall see some of the pics of that trip. we got back to the fake campsite with many people falling on the ground, on tents and also the lovelieness that is vomit. i was probably the only one who wasnt absoloutly wasted but i was feeling pretty under the wheather from many things so i was able to watch and remember the whole excursion which i dont think many others did. (there was a down side to this though everyone else were quite happily drunk and would feel it in the moring while i just had the feeling of being ill with out the benifits of alcohol the whole time.
after salta we travelld into Bolivia. Bolivia was stunning and we drove for two long days across the antiplano to get to the town of uyuni. this place was great although you were warned not to venture out in the morning when the national anthem was played at the army base opposite so that you didnt break the law (not really sure what it was about). here we went to the salt flats the largest area of salt in one place on land. this was one of the most incredible sites i have ever seen. it had rain and it was more like a very shallow lake and due to the whitness of the salt made the land and sky merge with one big reflection. we also visited a train graveyard whcih was filled with trains around 100 years old it really reminded me of back to the future 3. we then travelled to a town called potosi which was one of the highest poinys we travelled too well over 4000 meters. we visited a working mine here. it felt like you were back 150 years ago in victorian mines as its all done by hand, pick axe and dinomite and has incredibly narrow tunnels and is very dusty. i mentioned dinomtie not long ago well we could buy some for the miners from street shops in the town including the fuse and amonia we bought some for the miners and naturally decided to keep some for our selves. after exiting the mines we blew the dinomite up in a bottle a bag and in a papaya fruit the explosions were massive and it was fantastic. after potosi we headed onto La Paz but im going to have to save that for another day cause im bloody hungry.
