hello hello hello! well this is the begining of my south american trip! were to start well before i say anything i am going to warn you of my appaling ability to spell and with kirk not being here to spell check for me (thats the only reason i got him to go around the world with me) you will just have to enjoy my errors.

both flights were pretty good the first to madrid was normal enough apart from the old couple sitting next to me from south east asia who wore thoe sergiacl mask things over there mouth and nose for the whole plane trip. i have been suffering from a cold for a good week now which i thought i was getting over and when we started to descend the airpressure started up one mighty fine nose bleed. i do not wish to bestow this on anyone else escpecially as this was the first flight in which i knew no one esle on board. the passengers next to me very helpful though by turning on the overhead lights of the person sitting next to me and mine so i was in bright light for all the passengers to see.

if i thought it couldnt get any worse when i found where i was sitting for the long haul flight to Sao Paulo i found to my jubilation a mother with a baby sitting right next to me. you always have babies on planes but never right next to you and this one had quite a piercing cry when it wanted to. luckily it only cried before takeoff and slept for the rest of the time much to the pleasure of myself and the brazilian sitting next to me who didnt speak a word of english. this caused some comical moments and i think she was from sao paulo and here family were from paraguay or uraguay or mybe the outer regions of the hebredies.

in Sao Paulo now with a couple of friends i met on my travels in the summer. has been really interesting seeing some of the sites of the city. Sao Paulo is absoloutly massive it just keeps on going and going into the distance incredible! and so is the traffic and the drivers at that! went around a market today and tried all sorts of weird and wonderful exotic fruit some of which i have never seen before which was fantastic. i have a couple more days here and will then be moving on up to Rio for the carnival. i will try and put some photos up soon.
