It took 8 hours on a greyhound coach to get to san fran, we drove through the orange county and saw all the farmland dedicated to this, along with a wine valley. It was beautiful to see the countryside which no alot of people do because they fly between most big cities.
We didnt arrive till 9pm and checked ourselves in . While eating we met 2 aussie girls who told us we HAD to go out with them. So's not to be rude we did. Went to a local club where the drinks were cheap and every america grinded instead of danced. I didnt venture to the dance floor because i know im not the greatest mover lol.
On our second day we walked the mile or so down to pier 39, which was famour for a colony of seals which just arrived today, Im sad to say most of them are gone now and it wasnt quite as impressive as previous vistors had said, all of 20 seals or so. Feeling energitic we hired bikes for the day and cycled to the golden gate bridge, San Fran is so bloody hilly, I nearly killed myself doing this, I certainly wasnt feeling energetic afterwards.
On our 3rd and final day we went to alkatraz, ( you just have to right ?) Great day out, Took 'hilarious' photos and saw all the jail cells before heading back to the mainland for soup in a sourbread bowl . Lobard street is san fran's steepest street, So we decided to walk there ( obviously ) after yet a near death experience climbing the san fran hills we took some photos and were slightly underwhelmed. Lets just say after a full on day of walking I was happy to take the historical street car ( we say tram ) back to our hostel before leaving to go back to L.a in the morning.
