Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
Oh my, so unbelievably bored. Lack of updates recently cause I've been catching up on the long overdue little odd jobs I needed to get done. Just found out that funds are dwindling, looks like I'm gona have to tighten the money spendage.
K- Tuesday was Teacher's Day. The kids all had various things prepared. In the morning, the teachers had a soft ball competition, then there was a presentation in the hall, where certain classes put on songs, dances and even karate. There was a 'cutting the Teacher's Cake' ceremony, where the whole school sang 'Happy Teacher's Day' while the headmistress cut the cake. All of the teachers, including Aman and I, had to stand on stage in front of all of the students- and of course, Judi pulled us into the front row of all of the teachers and we had to sing random Malay songs- fun fun. We were then invited to 3A's class party, where we ate cake, took some pics and they gave us each a little prezzie. Next was a teacher's lunch in the canteen, where the teachers bid farewell to a Chinese teacher that was leaving for good.
I then headed to KK with Aman and checked into NBC. We went for an LI, then met with Georgie and her new Brazilian friend, Carlos. We all went to Wisma and bought postcards, put photos on Cd etc. Early evening I went to the Hyatt to check Rosie's room was up to scratch, then met with her and Dave shortly after. I brought them to LI for my second helping that day. G+Aman joined us and we had a nice natter.
Rose and Dave took to bed early, while Aman, G+ I headed back to NBC to discover there was a power cut, early beds all round.
Next day, Rosie and Dave set off to Sandakan to see the turtles and orang utans on a tour I had booked them on. G,A +I had yummy waffles for bfast at the Coffee Bean then they set off for the airport to catch their flight to the Phillippines, leaving me all alone in KK. I spent the rest of the day online and in Wisma. Headed back to the school for an early night. Next day I tried to get a few things sorted-like booking my hotel in Singapore. I then headed into KK and checked Rosie into the Hyatt. They fekd up the room- AGAIN! So after some banter with the staff (who now know me- yus), I scored them the 'Presidential Suite', which consists of 3 ½ rooms- living/dining room, bedroom, bathroom- huuuge, and literally a separate room for a wardrobe. Was a bit mental- they also had 2 tvs and 2 bathrooms. I then used the Hyatt pool, Jacuzzi and spa, which was nice and relaxing from all of the numerous things I had previously been worrying myself about. Met Rosie and Dave for cocktails, then took them to Fatt Kee Chinese for a local meal. Bought some junk food and a romantic comedy VCD for the kids (having a sleepover with them) then headed back to the Asrama. Friday- major tidy of the room, chores got done, sewed badges on bag, wrote postcards, sent emails and prepared sleepover. Was waiting for ages for the girls to join me for the party. The plan was to start at 10pm (after their studies), but Joyce and Miza had to help prepare and run a religious camp thing that was taking place in the school that night. So they eventually turned up at about 12.30am to watch the VCD. Twas a fab romantic comedy- enjoyed all round. We got to bed at about 3am and they had to get up at 4.30am to start the religious activities again- crazy! I'm gona arrange another sleepover cause some of the girls didn't get to join in cause they had exams on Saturday morning- like Aubry, think she was gutted, so will have to make it up to her.
This morning I set out to KK pretty early, checked into NBC and bumped into Fiona and Sarah- the outdoor ed Gappers in Sabah, Hada long natter with them about their placements- they seem to be getting on well. Then I headed out to Manukan island to see Rosie and Dave. Spent the day in the shade, just writing postcards then headed back to KK to get showered and meet for cocktails. Dinner at Upperstar (thinking it was a bit dodge) and Rosie and Dave took another 'early night', so I just hopped online. Gona head back to NBC now and stick Harry Potter on the DVD player- woo!
