So was at work today but again it was pretty quite again so ended up leaving early. Must admit i'm not entirely sure how I'm gonna cope with it being so quiet, it might drive me mad!! Met a funny wee man at the tram station. I was listening to my ipod and he sat down just along from me and after a wee while he said something which i obviously didnt hear, so i took out my earphones and he said "do u mind swapping seats so i can smoke without the smoke drifting over to you because of the wind?" So we swapped seat and I was so shocked that i said thanks and how nice it was for someone to actally do that cause normally people dont care and just smoke anywhere regardless! Anyway so then he wouldnt stop talking to me, must admit he seemed a wee bitty drunk and looked a wee bit like one of these wee old men who spend their lives in a pub. However when we were chatting he was telling me how he used to be a professional boxer!! Didnt expect that at all, and he'd been all over the world and even fought in the Commonwealth Games!! Its incredible how someone can go from that to being a bit of an alchi, made me wonder how he ended up like that, it was quite sad.
On the train I watched this junki/alchi couple get on with a double pram and i must admit i thought oh the poor kids! I mean the dad was carrying a bottle in a brown bag!! However they were standing in front of me and i was just kind of watching them. It was the weirdest thing tho they clearly love the kids and the kids love them back, and it was just in a really nice doting way! It kind of made me a little bit sad to think how amazing these guys could be if they sobered up. I mean for example the wee girl kept trying to run up the train and 1 time when the guy (who had been drinking and obviously doesnt hav the same reactions as a sober person) went to grab her he smacked her head off the chair which sounded really sore, but he just kind of cuddled her and kissed her better and she hardly cried which i was shocked at! I also wonder what these kids think about the alcohol on their parents breath, do they think everyone smells like that?! I would also like to point out that the kids appeared to be really well looked after, they were fed and she even changed the wee boys nappy on the train! Just made me want to tell them to sober up cause they clearly could be fansastic parents if they had their wits about them!
Oh and then on the bus, the guy stopped for a while at the start of the route, however i'd never stopped there before so i was a bit like wots going on?! And then the bus driver was like sorry i didnt realise there was anyone on here, we just need to wait til the leaving time. I was like ok, well will i just walk cause i think am just round the corner i think at the pre school? And the guy said yeh it is i'll just drive u which i thought was a bit weird cause surely thats his job?! Anyway i ended up sitting at the front of the bus chattng to him and he dropped me at the stop and then shook my hand and introduced himself as i was getting off lol! U would never get that back home!
Anyway enough of my journey home. Theresa's sister and her new man were coming down tonight! Theresa and Alec were quite excited about it and I even ended up quite excited about meeting them. They are both lovely and each brough a dog with them, Patricia's dog is Daisy who is a lab/kelpie cross and black. Neils dog is a beagle/charles spanial cross (which i managed to guess somehow lol) who is a tad overweight and loves being petted! They were going out for Thai that night but i said i wouldnt come so they could catch up. However i did end up going as they said i was more than welcome. I was really glad i went tho, the food was amazing! We got 3 meals to share between 4 of us, Alec wasnt eating, which was a great idea.
When we got home they started with playing music which was amazing. The whole of Theresa's family are very musical and Neil loves his guitars which he plays and sells. So we had some guitar and singing which i wanted to stay up for but i was up ealry for work the next day so decided i'd better go to bed at 11pm unfortunately :( they ended up staying up til 2am and i didnt hear a thing even tho the room am in is next to the living room!!
