Went to see the Blue Mountains today and it was a really long day. We left the hostel at 7.30am and didnt get back til 8pm! It was an interesting trip. Our tour guide was something else, totally wacky but harmless. To be honest i dont think i've ever heard one person know so many random facts, does make u wonder if its true or not! Oh and heres one i bet u never knew, Australia has the worlds only poisonous bird living here!
So we stopped off at our first stop and went for a walk which lasted about 1 and a half hours after we had taken all our photos. The scenery was beautiful, i got some lovely photos which i will upload as soon as i can. We also tried the call Australian cow boys/girls make to each other if they get lost, "koo eeh". It sounded really cool cause we shouted it towards an inlet (if thats what u call it) and it totally echoed round! We also painted our faces with some stuff from a rock, made us look like we had really bad make up on!
After this we stopped for a well earned lunch in a proper little town/village, not really sure wot it was if am honest! Anyway it was the funniest place, all these cute wee shops down one street. We even ate out luch sitting on the grass in the middle of the road like everyone else seemed to be doing!
We then saw the Three Sister, which our guide kept telling us were beautiful! Didnt really see the beauty of them myself, but it was an impressive sight! During this time we walked 1000 steps(!) down the mountain to a lower level of the mountains. It was incredible how dark it got under all the trees. Dont think my legs hav had such a work out since the time me and Betty walked down the tower at the Sagradia Famillia cathedral in Barcelona! My legs definatley had a jellyish feel to them by then end and i think i'll be feeling it for days!
On the way home we stopped off at a nature park to see the kangaroos! It was so exciting to see my first 2 kangaroos! However as it was getting dark my pictures of them didnt turn out very well, with 1 especially making the kangaroo look especially scary!
Also drove through the Olympic Village place but it was dark by that time so there wasnt much to see. Will prob go back for a better visit later.
