After awaking late, and watching a surprisingly gripping combination of a comedy caper and a physiological thriller starring Kevin Costner and Clint Eastwood - we travel via an immensely crowded bus to Lingyin Si (The Temple of Spiritual Retreat). It is very warm today, and we are certainly in need for a spiritual retreat after spending the best part of half an hour in Armpit City. Once you have spiritually relinquished your money at the gate, the setting is indeed quite spiritual. Various carvings of Buddhas, some dating from 1000AD, are etched into the steep stone walls of the hillside, monks meander around taking water from the gently flowing stream.

We return to the same restaurant in the evening - and don't dare try anything new given how great yesterday's food was. The food is equally great.
