It feels like we haven't updated you for AGES - we've been to so many places since the last blog, so this might take me a while! After Roturua our next stop was Waitomo where we had the chance to do black water rafting. I (amy) jumped at the chance as there was literally nothing else to do or see there. It was an early start, 7.45, when they kitted us up in our sexy rafting outfits - I swear in every activity so far they've made us look as stupid as they possibly could! But hey we rocked the look, there was only 4 of us (me being the only girl) We abseiled down into the cave (the equivalent of an 11 storey building) we floated/swam through freezing cold water, climbed waterfalls, slid through mud tunnels and were surrounded by glow worms. It was such a good adventure, never thought I'd do anything like it. The free hot chocolate, flapjack and chocolate on the way around along with the free soup and bagel after was also a bonus! Meanwhile kim and the kiwi bus were watching a rabbit being sheared - so random!
The next stop was Taupo - skydiving! Woop woop! The weather let us down when we arrived but I was lucky I could do it the morning we left. The skies were so clear which made it perfect to see everything below us. The flight up felt like it took forever but I guess it was 15000ft! When the door of the plane opens there's only one way 2 go - down! The jump is so surreal, it doesn't actually feel like you're falling it's such a weird feeling. It's so awesome just floating over the land below when the parachute comes out aswell. So glad I did it! In Taupo was also bumped into a friend we met from Australia, so we got a bit excited about that. We didn't even know he was there, we literally bumped into him in one of the pubs, so random.
After that we made our way down to River Valley for one night, but that's not really worth talking about as there's nothing 2 do there. It's just a little lodge in a huge valley, in the middle of nowhere. I think the next stop was Wellington, but my memory is not to great so I'll let Kim write the next bit!
