Day 10 Geech to Chenek
Estimated Hiking Time: 8 hours, Approximate Distance: 20 km The day started with a gentle uphill, I took the lead again. We proceeded to Imet Gogo (3926m), a lookout with spectacular views of the Simien Mountains. Then we descended almost 1000 m along the escarpment of a sheer cliff before we ascended the other side through a giant heather forest to reach Ennatiye view point (4070m) for lunch. This is where things got a little bit harder - I quickly felt that my strength disappeared. After this I don't remember much from the ascent, I have some short flashbacks that I wished that the armed guides would shoot me to let me out of my misery, and then I almost passed out at the lunch spot. The descend was just slightly less painful.
When we arrived our campsite -Chenek, at 3600m, in the middle of a Gaint Lobelia patch. I was too tired to do anything but rest before the dinner. But food and Ouzo (the make really good Ouzo in Etihopia) gave me strength to enjoy the beautiful full-moon. The moon was so bright that I could take photos, with a chair as a tripod. When I went for a leak a big dogish thing passed me very close,
