Well here's the update on day two of the jungle, sorry so far behind with events here because? well we are enjoying it too much.
The day started with news that our guild was ill and so plans had been made for to join with another group. This was no great problem apart from six people plus the guild is far more suitable the sixteen plus a guild and although our Dutch friends were polite a few had some annoying habits, more on that later.
Our first event was a visit to an oxbow lake,45 mins walk and a step on to an pontoon in steaming hot weather. On our trip apart from the seemingly endless information about the rain forest and it's in habitants we saw fruit bats, Turkey Birds, Blue Birds and Tucan all in trees around the lake. Flying over head were often parrots, buzzards etc and then the were the fish, the kind you see in tropical tanks. Back for a nice lunch and a rest before we set out to see a local farm where we saw different types bananas, Brazil nut trees (these are odd, do you know the grow a pod almost the size of a coconut but inside the are 15-20 Brazil nuts). We also saw and tasted lots of other stuff that I'm ashamed to say I can't recall all the names. Really was interesting though and if you want to support the rain forests buy Brazil nuts because the are only 3 places they grow.
