hi!
Sorry we've not blogged in a while - its been mental!!
So since the alpaca farm we headed to another farm to work for a week and a half - it was 3 hours outside melbourne on the coast - the couple, Jan and Ewan owned cows, sheep, working dogs and a minature poodle called angus!! They were lovely - had travelled to most of the countries we have still to go to so we learned loads from them.
Ewan was the farmer - we spent most days with him, herding, building fences and having a ball. Jan cooked awesome food, made pottery, jewellrey and weaved to sell, her stuff was amazing. They even took us out for a day to see the sights around their home. We slept in a log cabin they had built for their "duck shooting" friends so we were in the lap of luxury!
After their we headed back into melbourne and spent a weekend with andy - one of the guys we travelled with in africa! It was great to see him again. We stayed at his parents house (mansion!) and were shown the sights of melbourne. We even went down to their beach house for a night and spent the day fishing off a pier, it was paradise! We even went to ramsay street (see the pic!) its so much smaller in real life!
Andy said goodbye to us and we visited kate for the day - one of the management science masters from uni who is over here working for a while. We went for lunch and caught up - it was so good to see her again! Odd though seeing someone you know so well in somewhere so strange.
Then it was an overnight bus back to sydney (that was an interesting experience!) and we headed out to another farm. This was peter and diannes farm - in the back of beyond in wollongong with 2 horses and a new house being built on the site. We stayed in a funky little caravan and helped clear paddocks of weeds and trees and stuff - peter was lovely and dianne spent most of her time working and staying at their other beach home. We spent a few nights there, hand feeding kangaroos and having lazy days. Loved it!
Left Peter a few days ago and headed into sydney - spent ages at the Chinese consulate getting our visas then out to bondi beach to stay with paddy and kavitha - a couple again from the africa truck. We got on like a house on fire in africa and its the same again, lots of photos, beer and blethering! This weekend is scotland vs ireland on 6 nations (paddys irish) and st.paddys day parade in sydney so its going to be a busy one!
Any hoo - thats a quick run down on what we've been up to - we've both really enjoyed this part of the trip, being in peoples homes and being out of the rat run for a while. Kezz loved all the farm worked, helping fix things and use the machinery!
Today is saturday and 11am monday we leave for china! Beijing here we come!!
Miss you all millions! Please please send us little emails telling us how your all getting on, its good to hear everyones ok.
Happy Birthday Allan, have a wonderful day, wish we were there!
love kezz and mo x x x x
