Hello from Bali :0)
Well we finally arrived in Bali after a really long trip from Tauranga to Auckland to Brisbane to Bali. In all it took us 18 hours and we arrived sleep deprived into the tropical heat of Bali.
On arriving at the hotel we headed straight for the pool to cool off and talk about how tired we were. After about an hour of discussing who was the most tired we decided the only thing for it was a Nana nap mid afternoon. Luckily we woke up in time for dinner as it had been a good 10 hours since our last meal. We headed off to the local restaurant for dinner. I tried red rice which apparently is a Balinese dish and it was really good - kind of like brown rice (but red!).
This morning we woke up at 6am (jet lag is responsible for the early hour). We headed down the beach and it was sooooo beautiful. The water was warm and we walked for ages paddling in the shallows and discussing our plan for the day which involves swimming, doing the washing and shopping for some wetsuit booties for Brian (so that his fins will fit) and we can take the boards out for the inaugural surf. Surf is good today on Legian - nice clean little breaks.
At the moment we are sitting on our balcony (the hotel has free wireless broadband) writing this blog. There is balinese music tinkling in the background from across the fence and I can't wait to get out and explore Bali.
Until next time,
love and smiles to you all
Kerry and Brian

I've got the hang of it now. Hope you are well, hi to the team. Love K
Shequawanb Finemore River, hurray home, Dad has been horrible since you left work, as for Sunshine and moonbeem, they do all the work around the house and now Dad loves them more than Sheewannaj and I. Love the description of the red rice! Have fun over there! Well Shequawanb it sounds like you need some time in the healing circle.... Please say hello to your Dad and Daniel, Gregory, Em, Jo and Rob (got the whole cublicle in there didn't I?). Laters! K (ps. hi to sunshine and moonbeam - cripes, nearly forgot them... again)
Angela Johnson Good luck on your travels. When are you coming to Dunoon. I hear there is great surfing in Tiree!!
Chris O'Donnell Just in case you aren't appreciating Bali enough, we just got over a 3 day nor'easter storm. It was so bad, the house was shaking... visiting friends needed lots of wine to calm their nerves. Luckily I was able to oblige. Enjoy your adventure and Nyepi! I will be living vicariously through you! Hey Chris! Nyepi has been so peaceful - its amazing to experience Bali silent - not a motorbike to be heard!! Glad to hear you are keeping your guests topped up with wine :) Hope the house is ok - they obviously build 'em sturdy there. Can't wait to see you at some stage this year. Love K and B xx
