From Donna and Clyde: Quieter day today, leaving aside the major protest that kicked off in the morning in the Piazza right outside our hotel. Not quite sure what it was about, but think it had something to do with unions and old people. We managed to beat the rain and went to the Colosseum in the morning and took a guided tour that included the upper and lower levels, which we all enjoyed. Skipped the wander around the Palantine Hill and Roman Forum as it started bucketing down. Ended up shoe shopping for Molly who has busted through her sneakers! Molly is now in love with Zara and me (Donna) with the Italian shoe shops in general - I could easily go nuts as they make Mi Piaci on LQ look very ordinary. Managed a quick look at the Spanish Steps while shopping and trying to dodge the rain, but Toby was not impressed. According to him, if he wanted to see Spanish Steps, he would have gone to Spain!
From Molly:
I absolutely loved the Colosseum - it was amazing. After that we went to the Train Station to shop for some shoes for me, but spent most of our time shopping for donuts (thanks Toby). We eventually found some shoes at my new favourite shop, Zara. It was wonderful until Mum found a horrible coloured top and wanted desperately to buy it. Then we went to the Spanish Steps which were definitely under my standards because Dad set my expectations very high.
Fom Toby: BOMBOLONI BOMBOLONI BOMBOLONI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BOMBOLONI is a DONUT in Italian. Sorry I've been offline for a while. It's just I've been eating BOMBOLONI. I have done heaps of stuff while I've been offline. We have gone to the Pearl Market in China. I bought an ipod touch case. It's got a monkey on it and cost10 yuan [2 DOLLARS] and an Angry Birds shirt for 50 Yuan[10 DOLLARS]. The next day we went on a plane to Rome, Italy. On Thursday I had BOMBOLONI'S for breakfast. Then we went to the Vatican Musuem and went in to the Sistine Chapel. Then we went to St Peter's Square for lunch. After that we went to the Trevi Fountain and threw coins in it. Then we came back to our hotel and played "Pass the Pig" and then went to bed. The next day we went to the world famous building THE COLOSSEUM and got a guide. After that we caught the Metro to the Termini and shopped for BOMBOLONI and then went to the Spanish Steps and I thought that they should be in Spain.
