Backpack with Kerry & Nat
We are enjoying our time in Cairns, it has gone so quickly we are leaving on Tuesaday morning which will be very sad. It is definitely my favourite place in the world, Natalie loves it here too.....................
We went out on the Great Barrier Reef yesterday on a boat called passions to do some snokelling. The crew soon managed to persuade us to do a dive instead so we decided to give it a go. It took alot of persuasion to get us down and we both came up many times before deflating out jackets for the final time and sinking down. Dirk our dive instructor was fantastic we both linked an arm each, which was great because it meant he did most of the swimming and guided us over and through the coral to the best places. The fish were amazing and so friendly they weren't scared of us at all. Dirk showed us what coral and sea creatures were cool to touch and the one's that weren't!!!!!
The Drive lasted about half an hour which was no where need enough, you had only really just started to relax and then it was time to come up again. So we decided we would do another dive in the afternoon on a different part of the reef. The secound dive was much better we saw a really big sting ray, and black and white sea snake and thousands of beautiful fish. There was also a shark under some coral which Drik saw but deciced not to point it out to us because he knew we would freak and want to get back onto the boat, which is very ture so a big thanks to Dirk...........
Today we hired out a car for two days, we picked it up last night and slept in it so we could set off early this morning. We decided to go south as we have already been North. We did a big loop around waterfalls and beaches which were out of this world and went for a swim in a beautiful lake. Tommorrow we are going to drive into the outback as we don't have time to go to Uluru or Kakadu, we thought it would be nice visiting the outback...............
Catch up with you all in Townsville!!!!
