Backpack with Kerry & Nat
Roturua is a thermal volcanic town famous for its hot springs and mud baths. We visited some of the steaming mineral pools (which stunk) and then relaxed in the hot spring spas. We then went to the other exterme and went white water rafing (grade 5) I was very brave (nat). We hurtled down the river 'Kaituna' over three waterfalls one being 7 metres high. it was very scary, exhilerating and unbearable at time but was well worth the experience. We were very proud of ourselves (especially Nat who was the smallest so therefore sat at the back in the ejector seat- luckily I lobbed my paddle over the waterfall and held on for my life-Nat).
We then went up a mountain by cable car and soared down again on a 'luge' this is a tiny sledge like thing that you sit in and it rolls down the hill, you control it by moving the handle forwards for fast and backwards when you need to brake. You zoom down the track and dodge obstacles and then get on a chair lift back up and do it again. We went three times and each time did a different track right up to Advanced!!!!
WHAT A DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
