We spent our second day in Byron on a tour to Nimbin. Nimbin is unlike any other little village in the world!!! Everone smokes weed, I'm sure they even give it to the kids!! They are all hippies that live in a commune and spend their days completely out of it, its a very surreal place (probably appealing to a selective few of our friends right now!!) Every shop sells you 'cookies' and you even get them free if you buy a coffee! We spent a couple of hours here and that was enough, the people scared me!!! Although they were harmless, they werte so out of it that they all stare blankly at you which is scary! We didn't touch any of it while we were there because it can make you car sick and the journey was through the mountains, all bumpy and winding but it was really funny to watch some of the others on our tour! We did bring a couple of cookies back though..... sorry mum Chris and mum Sheila!!! Yesterday we went to surf school!!!!.....it was absolutely amazing, we picked it up really quickly (honest..... I know you may be laughing!!!) It's such a good sport and now we're on the prowl for surfboards of our own!!!! So when we get back we'll go down to the beach and you can all have a go!!!!!!! We treated ourselves yesterday.....we cooked pancakes!!!! It was so nice to eat something different to what we've been having.... pasta, rice, bread, pasta, rice, bread..... Doctor Atkins would be ashamed!!!! Off to Brisbane tomorrow morning, will be in touch from there!
