Another fine day, not a cloud in the sky, temperature in the high teens. Left Galway and headed up the coast to Clifden. Called into chemist and got some medicine for Jenny's cold. We found an Internet cafe and sent our 1st email home, also checked the Advocate for news from home. We bought tickets at the local tourist office for Kylemore Abbey, saved 20%. Kylemore Abbey is an old castle/mansion run by Benedictine nuns. We were able to go through part of the ground floor, the rest of the building is use by the nuns. We also visited their church and the mausoleum built by the first owner for his wife. He had kept her body under the stairs in the main house for the previous two years!
A lot of the countryside we traveled through today reminded me of our central highlands.
