This morning we started at the Olympia Museum where we met our guide Nike (Nikki) who shared a lot of her considerable knowledge about the history of Olympia. We started the day with a stop at Epidaurus where there was a museum celebrating the beginning of medicine. Ancient people used to visit priests here to be cured of illnesses and eventually the priests became the first doctors. One of these was Hypocrites. We are very sad to be leaving Villa Renos. Our hosts Petros, Zina and Vassilis made us feel so welcome and gave us an emotional farewell. Vassilis arranged a taxi to transport us to the airport. It was chaotic at the airport and took ages to check in. Thankfully our flight was delayed as we may not have made it otherwise. Today we had a room upgrade (not sure why). We were a bit worried as we loved the first room, but this one is magnificent, much larger, with a spa and easier access to the pool. As this is sadly our last day in Santorini, we intend just to relax and enjoy the view.
