In the morning we caught a boat back to Old Venice and watched a glass blowing demonstration at Murano Glass. We then had some free time so we climbed the bell tower in St Marks Square which provided some amazing views of Venice. Only problem was that it was absolutely freezing! - the coldest I have ever been. My fingers were so numb that I had trouble operating the camera to record the spectacular views. However, I forced myself to stay up there for the bells to ring which was absolutely deafening.
Then we looked through the shops which basically only sold glass ornaments and Venetian masks but we found a really cool wall hanging of an ancient world map that we just had to have.
Next we had a guided tour of St Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace. After that we had a lagoon cruise across to the beautiful island of Burano where we had a seafood lunch. We then said goodbye to old Venice and headed back to the hotel.
