Early morning pickup from the magical express (5:30am) to go to the Orlando international airport to catch our shuttle to port Canaveral for our cruise on the Disney fantasy !! We waited ages as we are always incredibly early so I had a McGriddle for breakfast from McDonalds (pancakes instead of the muffin bun)
Shuttle took just under an hour which we slept the whole way. Check in was pretty easy and we were on the ship before 12. It’s massive. We walked into the lobby and they introduce you by family (an Aussie working onboard greeted us) and Donald Duck was there to welcome us. Then we got sent to a restaurant called animators palate for lunch. So cute. The chairs are all themed Mickey Mouse and the knifes are shaped like paintbrushes !!
I had a chicken Caesar salad & a welcome aboard sundae with mickeys face on it. It was a butterscotch sundae and delicious. They tried to force another dessert onto me but I could only manage a few bites. Then we strolled around the ship getting the layout and relaxing in the adults only area (kids super hyped up and pretty loud)
Checked out our room 9019 with our magical porthole. As we entered the Xmas blankets and pillow package we ordered was laid out. It looked fantastic. The magical porthole is super cool too characters come by all the time. Bathroom is a lot bigger than I anticipated it even has a bathtub. We came out of our room and someone had pixie dusted us with a Disney themed peg it was amazing.
The mandatory muster was in Walt Disney’s theatre for us which meant seating and thankfully no hot sun standing. We then headed upto the sailaway party musical they put on then ran down to stalk Mickey Mouse for pictures ! It’s basically like standing in line for pictures at the parks but with air conditioning.
We walked upto mater and flos grill to try some pizza before dinner as we got the late seating booking so late. Then headed to the royal court for our first dinner service. I had French onion soup (nowhere near as good as chefs de France), crusted salmon on a cauliflower purée, and a vanilla creme brûlée.
Mum wasn’t feeling great so we headed back to the room and straight to sleep.
