Hey all
Pics are going crazy so will upload them in the next few days but here is what we've been up to xxx
Arrived at Cameron Highlands after a 7 hour bus ride with a crazy driver who preferred to eat his peanuts than watch the road, pretty scary when you're going up mountains! In the avo Em went on a trek and i went had a massive nap as wasn't feeling great. Later on the group went for dinner and had Steamboat which is basically fondue, but you have 2 soups (seafood & meat flavour) and you have lots of fish, meat and veg and you cook it in the soup. Great for everyone except a veggie so i had some rice!! Everything looks so English here because it was discovered by the Brits and they were the first settlers there, it's influence is still so apparent all across Malysia.
The next day we got up bright and early as we only had the morning (afternoon we were travelling again) so we went to a tea plantation, butterfly and insect farm and a strawberry farm...
The tea plantation was really cool, we got shown around the factory where everything happens, told about the workers and the machines used etc... it's actually owned by a Scottish family. Once we'd been there we went over to the butterfly and insect farm where Em held lots of insects including a Scorpion - crazy chick! Then into the butterflies, this was awesome and we got some really nice pics of us holding them. Also saw some gorgeous flowers here. Then onto the Strawberry farm for a lush Strawberry milkshake! Very much deserved by this point!
This was followed by another mammoth bus journey to Kuala Lumpur.
We pretty much got to the hotel and went straight out for dinner, the evening was going well until we were standing as a group having our pics taken when this guy started taking photos of us - slightly strange, but then he clearly started aiming the camera at me, so i asked to see his pics which were all zoomed in on me and deleted them! Was a bit freaked out but since then it's happened to a few of our group all blonde girls and we saw it happen to another group off girls (all blonde) - really crazy! Oh well, we shortly moved onto a bar called 'the reggae bar' which didn't play reggae and was full of what we thought was underage, but to be honest they were probably old enough it's just that we're getting older lol!!
Next day we had a bit of a lie in (8am!) and took the open top bus tour of Kuala Lumpur stopping at the shopping mall and paid a visit to Topshop!! Very happy :) Had a bit of a relaxing girly day. In the evening we had dinner at a local market and then went to 'the beatles bar' where there was nothing beatley inside!! But it was cool, just cushions everywhere and nice and chilled out. Stayed here for a few hours with Jeremie who told us about his romantic history and he told us "I'm not gay, i'm French"!!
Today we have travelled down to Melaka for a bit of a stop off before Singapore tomorrow and then a few days which we haven't organised yet and the Oz!!!
Love to you all,
Kells and Emilia xxxx
