It is beautiful country to drive through on the eastern side of Port Augusta. We intended on staying at Port Pirie for one night but they wanted to charge us quite a bit extra for Lochie, on our trip so far we haven't had to pay for Lochie, so out of principle we continued on. Kellie had found a beautiful caravan park on the internet at Crystal Brook, it was the next town only about 50km further on so we were quite excited to stop there. When we arrived we could only find a crappy little park which we didn't look very inviting to stay at, and it didn't match the tranquil photos we saw on the internet. We are getting fussy towards the end of our journey! Ha, ha! We tried to use the GPS to find the park, but the GPS didn't recognise the streets in this area, it was then the penny dropped and Kellie said, "It's Crystal Brook in Victoria!!!" It was very funny, she won't live that down for a few weeks, but at least we know of a nice park near Melbourne now! Ha, ha!
Anyway we drove a further 80km to the winery town of Clare. It was an awesome drive through picturesque farm land with the country roads going up and down dale. The big farm houses and the homes throughout this area and in the town of Clare are beautiful old sandstone homes, absolutely stunning houses to look at! The caravan park here is beautiful, it is set amongst green parkland and Eucalyptus trees so we will relax and stay here for a few days while we look around the area.
