Well we made it! A plane full of Tongans and every household appliance you can fit into the hold of a 737. After leaving LA. we landed 10 hours later in Fiji for a 16 hour layover. Walked or should I say could have walked across the street to the hotel where we spent the day laying by the pool watching planes land and take off. I got a jump start on my yearly sunburn and am lobster like here in Tonga. The plane ride over was fast and seemed like every Tongan over seas was heading home. The luggage area was crammed with all kinds off things and I don't know how in the states we get charged for a small piece of liggage and these people have these huge boxes of steaks to bikes. Anyway
We landed in short order and wer greated by a Togan woman carrying a very small baby! We were like this is different usally they great us with a sign or something. Well two minutes later the baby was gone as we rushed out of the airport.I did ask what happened to the baby she said that a woman had asked her to hold the baby while she grabbed her luggage she had no ideal who are driver was or anything. Well we hopped into our mini van with Togan a/c or the side door open and rolled up the road passing everybody as our drive tried to light her cigerette with a match and wave to her friends along the road. She said she was a good Mormon girl and not to tell anybody she smoked! Well nobdoy here knows who she is.
Anyway we arrived at our resort way up in the country nothing here but sand and surf. Anybody knowing me knows that I need alittle more to do or I drive Joy crazy.Surviving the night with three beers in me we jumped into a waiting car and did an island tour. Now if you ever come to Tongatapu and do an island tour see the Blow Holes last as everything else will be pale in comparison. The Blow holes are best seen at high tide which is when we arrived. A couple of miles of beach with these blow holes every couple hundred feet. I thought we were going to see a blow hole instead we saw dozens shooting water 30-40 feet in the air. We have great pictures and video but the service here is much too slow to upload so that will have to wait until we get back to town. Well the day grows old and we are heading to a dinner show I will sign off now. Till next time Bulu (thats Fijian for hello and good bye I'll figure out the Togan way later)
