"Just a final word before I go" Not knowing what the day will bring I thought I would send out an up to date blog as I am doing laundry. We arrived in South Florida Thursday night flying into West Palm Beach home of the private jets. There must have been a hundred of them. Wellington Horse Show is going on and I guess everybody was in for the weekend. We cut out of the airport in a car without a never lost GPS. Needless to say we were lost in 30 minutes and arguing, hence we were back at the airport 30 minutes later getting a much better car with Never Lost.
Day one found us at Palm Meadows saying hello to everybody we know who has moved south for the winter with the typical "Your both here" As usually it is that people only see one of us at a time. Salutations done we rolled on to Delray Beach for a great lunch along the intercostal with Judy and Piety. Watching the multimillion dollar yachts pull up like they were driving a Toyota Camry and having lunch at the same place as us. Back on the road we rolled up to the South Florida Fair and did some people watching, they have better rides but I still think Cecil County Fair has a better selection of people.
Day Two we rolled back into Palm Meadows to see a couple more of our friends and stopped at Tagg's barn for a few laughs. Barclay should be a comedian. Off to the show grounds to meet up with Grainne and Bob her kissing my Wife a lot Husband. We got the full tour with audio on the Brookledge Golf Cart even better than a Hop on Hop off bus in Paris. We saw million dollar horses, vans, cars, trailers, homes, lot's and just about anything else money can buy. I didn't know this existed till yesterday. Brookledge treated Joy and I to a great lunch in the sponsor's tent (Thank You Brad) and we finished our Wellington Tour bit goodbye to our hosts and headed south.
Quick stop at the Fishing hall of fame we hooded a big one. They have fishing demonstrators and I hooked a sailfish. Quick run into Bass Pro Shop and we were southbound to Hollywood Florida. All checked in we roamed the main drag picked the worst place to eat and bingo we were in bed by nine. Hollywood doesn't start till 10: pm by us had a full day in the sun and was cooked. Must say that the folks that were out were dressed to the nines and quite impressive. Joy and I in our shorts and sandals not so much.
Today's events include laundry and a trip to the thrift shop. The thrift shop? Yes you see many people come to south Florida to die and when they do they leave their clothes and they find their way to the local thrift shop. Some clothes are so old that they are back in style, hey where will you ever find a baby blue leisure suit for $10?Once done with that we'll maybe catch a race or two at Gulfstream and then head further south to our last stop in America. I want to catch the cruise ships leaving tonight from the causeway and walk down South Beach. Finally returning to our hotel Inter-Continental for some football action. So until we have some internet or time or whatever. Hang Loose Keith and Joy are heading across the big pond. Track our ship on ship tracker she is the Carnival Destiny.
