I'm Angus (call me anything from Gus to Ango, Gusman to AngleGrinder, keckas to mamajugs) and through the end of this year and into the next I'll be travelling through North, Central and South America, Western Europe and South-East Asia on a six-month+ journey. I'm hoping to get my open-water diving cert., go snorkeling where ever I can, learn to surf, trek some temples, white-water rafting, canoeing, rock-climbing and any other outdoor-adventures I can lay my hands on. While this will be a solo adventure trip, I will be meeting up with many friends along the way and capping off my travels a massive New Years party in Thailand (though I plan to keep travelling throughout SE Asia afterwards).

The furthest I've travelled before this trip was to Tonga, which was "fuka ofa ofa" (Tongan for beautiful!) but that was when I was about 9 years old, so it'll be a pretty fresh start for me taking this trip..

I'm hoping to be exposed to all the beautiful and ugly sides of the globe, and I'm hoping this exposure will give me the passion and knowledge to become more involved in programs of development and sustainability (while still sipping as many lattes as possible!! not). It ain't fair out there, and being lucky enough to travel around the world is something none of us travellers should forget. I'd love to get involved in a project while overseas if i've got the time.

That said, I'm really f excited about this trip, and I hope it all goes well, or well enough :) Feel free to post comments or look at my photos. I'll try and stay in touch but some of the beauty of travelling is the dis-connection from your world, so we'll see, however I'm a sucker for Facebook..
