Morning, afternoon, evening??? I'm lost as to what time it is here let alone anywhere else in the world.
I get to type form the comfort of Dave & Claire's flat in Bangkok Thailand but let me update you wth what has gone before.
We used our bus tour ticket to full effect in Vienna and used it again the second day to get around town, well up until the cancelled the rest of the day tours for what turned out to be one of our most random but best days yet.
The city bus tours were cancelled due to a street parade, not one of local people in old fashioned gowns, or on hors back but a Street Festival of over a dozen hge flatback trucks with huge sound systems plugged into even bigger generators. We had stubbled on Vienna's street Rave! The city was buzzing as the trucks went by from various nightclubs with top name DJs and MCs. The parade finished up at the impressive parliment buildings and carried on infront of a huge crowd. We got got invloved with a few cans ourselves and it ended up been one of those late nights where you get lost and cant find your way home in a foreign city.
Next day was a washout, which sadly involved a hangover MacDonalds (oh dear), we did manage to bring ourselves round to walking round Vienna Praterstern Amusment Park, but didnt venture onto any of the many may rides.
Next day was off on the longhaul journey, a short hop to Berlin followed by an overnight flight to Bangkok. From the airport we hopped into the taxi driven by the ghost of Colin Mcrae. We did arrive safely at the Lebua Hotel, a gift bought for wedding by our friends Andy & Chrissy.
Arriving in the lounge of the Lebua, we were hardly dressed for one of the top hotels in Bangkok, been still in our travel outfits of travel shorts and walking boots we felt a little uncomfortable as they took our bags and upgraded us to a suite that was bigger than our flat. That day we used the hotel pool, then after debating if we had suitable attire managed to get into the Sky Bar and restaraunt on the 64th Floor for a cocktail and food ovelooking the city. Not only the worlds highest food but the highest bill for a bottle of wine kicking in at £65 quids!!!! It was worth every penny
Next day was over t meet Mr Dale & Miss Miller at the school they teach at in Bangkok, quite a difference from my days at Longfield, looking at the olympic size pool, or the wembey turf style football pitches. The place looks a dream, even if it is a school.
The guys took us out for some local grub and a couple of beers, top notch food with finally some decent conversation in full english, we had a great night and one to do it again so we are popping away for a couple of nights before returning at the weekend.
Spend the last 5 hours uploading photos, updating emails & blogs an leave this evening for Kanchanaburi to ride some elephants.
Love to you all,
Sorry this was a fairly long blog, read it in chapters
