Did my skydive! Waited around 4 hours before being told we weren't going to be able to jump, but called up the next day and managed to get a space, glad I did because the weather was amazing! The skydive was friggin awesome! One of the best things I've done! Although I didn't realise I'd been upgraded to 15000 feet so everyone jumped out at 14000 then they closed the door and went higher with just me and my instructor in the plane! The best feeling feels like you flying! Free fall was around 60 but it went so quick! Then we parachuted down for about 5 minutes with amazing views of the reef and the beaches! So worth the wait! I'm in Sydney now, just for the weekend to get my US visa approved, so stupid I have to come all this way for an interview but oh well! Staying at wake up hostel which was recommended to me by almost everyone I asked and it is pretty awesome except the people in my room are so boring, asked them if they were going out and they said no they were gonna stay in and do sudukos for obvious reasons I thought they were joking and laughed, they were not joking and now think I'm a complete b****! Awkward. Lol. Met up with ambers friend Emma and her boyfriend joe who were up in cairns with them, we went to the opera house and bridge and it was Anzac Day so they had pictures and memorials everywhere, there was also meant to be firework but we got there 4 hours too early and didn't want to wait around! We went back to wake up and got a group of us playing drinking games, I taught everyone spoons which is a great game because even the guys that don't speak English can play and pick it up pretty quickly, it also gets quite aggressive as people get drunker which is where we stopped and moved on to the bars. Ended up on scary Canary which is a backpacker bar near the hostel and had some random Scottish guy buying us all drinks all night! The next day everyone was either too hungover or working and everyone in my room had moved out! So decided to do a tour of the city by myself, did the whole 'I work at a travel agent' line and managed to get a half price bus tour ticket went to the botanical gardens, darling harbour, and back to the opera house also tried to do some shopping which I was excited about as cairns does not have much to offer for shopping but was upset to find every shop was only selling winter clothes like full on coats hats and scarfs! It is freezing here! Can't remember the last time I was this cold! Met up with llyod, Jess, Becca and George who we rented the villa with in vietnam at darling harbour for a few drinks and a catch up, Jess and llyod are just about to start there East Coast which is super exciting! Then we went for $5 steaks and more drinks in Surrey hills where they all live. Visa interview went really well although the wait was long and about 10 people in front of my got rejected! I was so scared they were asking so many questions! I don't know what I would have done if I'd have got rejected! But was all fine they took my passport and are going send it back with my visa this week. Yay!
