Hey everybody,
I can't believe Training is over!! The past week I have spent getting to know the other 20 China vols (see pic) plus the vols going to Chile and Cambodia. We had such a good week, and we all got on really well
The week consisted of receiving information about all aspects of our year abroad including travel, lesson planning, culture shock and homesickness, insurance, health and safety, and global citizenship.
I got to meet my partner - Lucie Rae - she's really lovely and we got on well :) I also really bonded with some of the other China vols including Callum, Tanisha, Laurie and Tazzy. The group is so much fun and I'm more sure now than ever that we are all going to have a fantastic time overseas.
The Project Trust staff were brilliant, and I'll just put in a quick thanks to them all for the fabulous time I had - the food was great, the lessons were interesting and informative, and their reception for us was fantastic. They always said that Training was a vital part of our year, and now I completely understand why!
I have my flight details for China - we will be leaving the UK from Heathrow Airport on Wednesday 20th August at 5pm - only 7 weeks and 2 days from now!!
With this date getting speedily closer I still have so much to do - I will be going down south to visit my family in the third and fourth weeks of July, I have my visa to apply for, my bags to pack, friends to see, and lessons to plan!
I know these 7 weeks will fly by, and I'm excited and nervous on equal levels mixed in with a whole host of other emotions too. But the great thing is - I have finished my fundraising thanks to the generosity of my grandparents!!
The next time I write will probably be the day before I leave, so until then, zàijiàn x
