Hi everyone. Finally got my head together a bit to write my first entry. We arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday. Flight over was really good, and glad to get on as our original flight was cancelled...damn fog!!

Hostel in LA was not at all what we expected, although we were only there for 2 nights. Glad we left when we did as a rather disgusting woman checked into our room...didn't seem to have a problem using the toilet with the door open or farting in Sarah's face when she was writing in her journal...ah memories!

Walked along Hollywood boulevard and saw loads of people setting up the Kodak theatre ready for the Oscars on Sunday. Pretty cool. We will do more things when we return to LA at the end of next week.

Took a shuttle bus to San Francisco yesterday. Hostel here is much better, but will definately appreciate the luxury of a hotel in Las Vegas. Today we walked around San Francisco and ended up at Fishermans Wharf. We took a boat trip around the bay and went underneath the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz island. Weather was really nice too, but did get wet on the boat. We have a few more days here before heading to Sin City. Going to go to Alcatraz next week and will check out China town soon too.
