Well, after 2 weeks of trial and error (walking into classrooms and deciding if I liked it), I finally have a course schedule and somehow managed to only have courses from Mon-Weds. There is still a possibility that my registration will be revoked if I don't pay 198 EUR for french health insurance, but I have a professor on my side now who is trying to change the legislation of the school to provide the same rules for canadians. You know me, getting right in there. Haha, it will all work out,I'm willing to pay but I won't go down without a fight. I'm talking some cool courses: french creative writing and a cultural critique class. the rest are boring french language courses but "c'est la vie". this one course I'm taking is pretty cool. We go watch cultural events, anything we want and then write a portfolio of critique articles to hand in at the end. Super hard in french, but such a neat course.
The biggest news: I finally have a replacement passport!!! Still no visa, but the passport allows me to travel finally. I have 2 and a half weeks to use up my Eurail pass so next weekend Rebecca (another Vancouver student) and I are going to Seville and Southern Spain! We don't have school next Weds because it is Remembrance Day, so we have five days. So excited! Any advice? Tips? Things to do or try?
Lots of love,
Katy
