Although the title of this part of the blog may seem a little narrow minded and well simple to be frank, it is true since i've arrived all i've seen is cattle, i blame all you lamb eaters back home!
So in seriousness a quick update, after a strange old journey over here, headed straight up to beach, where the friend i'm staying with has a beach house, ideal. This beach, coincidentally is where our racehorse Russ was trained, considering its probably no longer than 5ish miles, this is pretty remarkable and what a luckky horse he was it really is incredible.
It's situated between two mountainous towns I guess, Whangarei (pronounced Fangarei in Maori, they have no w sound or s-how inconvenient? This reminded me woosters of 'eeeathherr, good old fernando) and Mangawhai, both being pretty remote and quiet, a quick afternoon stop to Whangarei was lovely quite manmade and new but a sweet harbour and some amazing ice cream-glad the diet's going well. I can honestly say i've never seen such a quiet beach more than 20 people was busy apparently truly unspoilt and the scenery will really take some beating, white sand crystal blue sea and the most beautiful islands in the distance, wow.
On a slightly less informative note, i keep craving big meals early in the morning, this being the only way really that i'm suffering with jetlag although think this could just be my omnipresent appetite hmm. Anyway i digress...(how unusual?)
A weekend at the beach really was awesome, nice relaxing way to start my time here, accompanied by my friend's niece and friend both 10 did occassionally disrupt the tranquility of the beach when they found a crabor fish in the sea, on the whole they were lovely and great company. Take note people me actually liking children, what has happened(elody fumi?!).
So a few chilled out days back in Auckland with the same friend and two full day times of organising(yes parents organising) myself/sunbathing/skyping and then off on wednesday on kiwi experience until i leave for oz so internet may be intermittent but fingers crossed hostels will have some way i can keep you all in the know(convinced its only the woosters that are reading this).
It was so so good to skype the fam, especially you archie wooster who recognised my voice and came running into the room aww) and han this morning felt like i was down the road pretty crazy stuff, ok starting to sound like heath marvelling at the wonders of her new iphone so on that note i'll leave you, a fair few hours of sunbathing and reading to be done now, about 30 degrees here mmm.
Speak soon hopefully, much love to each and every one of you! xxxxxxxxxxx
