Ok so here we go LOUISE... Yet again kiddos get comfy...
So i said my goodbyes to New zealand had a massively emotional goodbye to the fellow travellers at some godforsaken hour at nomads queenstown. From there headed to OZ!! First stop was Melbourne for a short but very sweet trip to the Keyte's(our aussie friends from the uk) for the weekend, felt properly at home being with horses all day, it was beaut. Also felt very good after so many years of telling Janice and Greg we'll visit to actually be there!!
Only two days later I was back at the airport, this time the teeeeny tiny melbourne avalon airport, only 3 hour delay in an airport so small the departures and arrivals were in the same room-not ideal! However after the quick flight it was truly magical to see Huw Thomas to meet me at the airport, seeing a friendly face could not have been better and i was buzzing to spend the next 2 weeks not only with him but with my amazing sis too!!
So then it started the most incredible 2 weeks with Louise in Sydney, she arrived looking very chic indeed in comparison to me with the bedraggled traveller look unwantingly down to a tee...
From the moment she arrived louise was of course on the organising of everything(good job really, much as i'd like it to be different, my organisation skills haven't improved one bit).
We hit the city that afternoon straight to the beautiful botanical gardens in sydney sunshine which louise was more than happy to see after coming from snow back home!! Lou was more than excited to be hitting up the beaches, so manly(our fave), bondi and maroubra were all graced with our presence and were just perfect, we were loving that bondi beach rescue were filming whilst we were there, clearly came for us...
The reason louise came to Sydney was really to come for the festival i bought her tickets for at christmas. But just to be greedy we thought we would keep up traditions by going to Rosehill races the day before, a few dollars down but a good day had by all, even met a blokey who knew our russy bear-what a small world!! Anyway i digress... So Soundwave was incredible saw pretty much all of our favourite bands in the olympic park in the heat in sydney with the best company, pretty unbeatable if you ask me...
I couldn't actually describe everything lou and i did as there would simply be too much and i bore you all silly as it is i'm sure. But Sydney was pretty damn sweet, made by the amazing hospitality of Huw and his brilliant housemates Alan and Chris who made us feel so at home and made us laugh every single day without fail, so a massive thank you to you!
Almost forgot possibly the most dramatic point of the fortnight... I dropped my blackberry down the loo(before-dont worry!). After a lovely reunion meal with all the Nz girls and Huw, we headed to a lovely bar in The Rocks and everything was fine until i put my bloody phone in my back pocket and of course it dropped out down the loo, everyone witnessed a seriously alarmed katie(louise's words being, "trust you, you're such an idiot!!") but a few glasses of wine soon calmed me down but as those of you who know me well know my phone is an extension of my arm so this was quite traumatic for me to make matters worse louise was leaving the next day... Anyway disaster was half averted and my bb is half alive and very temperamental but not quite as serious as i had made out...
We saw some crazy things/people(yes lou that bloke on the bus...) and did every toursity photo you can do, about a million times as they were never quite right hah but i can safely say Louise you made Australia somewhere i'll never forget provided me with memories to last a lifetime(soppy or what!) LOVE YOU WEEZY xxxxx
