Last blog from the big apple.
Well, it's been an absolute pleasure to stay here for 9 days! I've done almost everything touristy and tried my best to see the real life of a New Yorker.
I visited a body expedition, which displayed real dead bodies with their skin, bones and nerves. It was a fascinating visit and it's aim is to help you appreciate your body and not abuse it. America could take note on that with all the fast food joints they have! I also went to the natural history museum which sounds geeky but was actually really good. My favourite segment was the space and universe. Ever since Kennedy space centre in Florida I have a fascination with all things space and the whole thing. After that I chilled out in Central Park and later did my last adventure into the shopping district on 34th street. I also did my last visit to the local Starbucks, where Jen & I became familiar faces. So familiar that I ended up getting free porridge & frappucinos from one of the guys.
So this morning I checked out of my hostel (thank god. It was the worst place I've stayed... No wifi, couldn't take my case to my room, rude and unhelpful staff) and headed to JFK airport for my flight to LA. It wasn't a smooth easy journey but I got there in the end after having to go back to the hostel as I left my documents there (idiot). But I made it there safe and sound meeting a film maker in the process who gave me some great tips for the west coast.
The flight was 5 hours 15 mins and I got a bit emotional landing in LA. It feels like my kind of place. A lot more laid back than New York and the vibe seems a lot calmer and safer too. The hotel provided a free shuttle from the airport which was handy, so this evening I've done all my laundry & ironing; got my nails done at a local salon; had a yummy steak dinner with lemon meringue pie for pudding; and prepared for my first day on my new tour tomorrow. I'm now in bed too excited to sleep as I cannot wait for this trek to start!
How are you all?? If you've read this please comment with how you're doing, whoever you are!!
Lots of love, Katie xxxxxx
P.s. Nearly forgot... I was on tv in Times Square! Check out my photos and play 'where's Waller' ;)

Rachel Hi Katie, so glad you had a good safe internal flight across America. I'm sure LA is your kind of place. I'm sure your knowledge of America is quite extensive now, be good in a quiz now ; ) we are all good, it's been a beautiful sunny weekend. Nan and I had a great time in London for Radio 2 Bert Bacharach evening, wonderful music. Really weird but just watching Apollo 13 on the telly, maybe one day you may go into space yourself, and then watched an Elvis film in the week. Alice is doing fine at Argos, Emily and Lee are ok, and David is just making shepherds pie for dinner. Thanks for your lovely e-mail. Carry on having a great time, lots of love xx

Mum and Bex are in Southampton shopping so looking after Bruce. Love you and take care. I would of thought more people would comment on your blogs other than the usual four or five so dissapointed in that and hopefully people will start to join in.
