Katie's Adventures
After spending two nights in possibly one of the worst hostels I am so glad to be leaving here! Luckily for me I shared a dorm with 5 other nice girls/ladies. I made friends with a girl called Rachael who is a Kiwi and we went out for a few drinks on Friday night. We found a traditional English pub and stayed in there all night. Was quite good, they had a really good band on and the pub even had jugs hanging up everywhere just like The Castle! In fact, it was very similar to the Castle as there were plenty of regulars propping the bar up, was quite amusing!
Yesterday I woke up with a slight hangover so Rachael and I decided to go out and get breakfast, after dragging our arses out of bed at midday! We both ordered "The Works" breakfast that was $12 with a milkshake. When it arrived Rahael went mad - there were two poached eggs, a tomato, three fatty rashers of bacon, a hash brown and the smallest saugsage ever! Rachael complained to the manager that she wasn't happy with it and asked for a refund, but the manager said she thought it was satisfactory and wouldn't refund her! Rachael then shouted out that she had seen bigger d***** than the sausage on her plate, I had to laugh even though I was quite embarrassed!
We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the shops, I had to buy ANOTHER pair of sunglasses as I stood on mine drunk the other night! We went to the cinema last night to see The Devil Wears Prada (excellent film for girls, go and see it!) and went back to the hostel. We were all in bed by 11pm and there were loads of rowdy young boys staying there so Rachael asked them to keep the noise down. They all went out and we managed to get some sleep. At 5am this morning, I got woken up by some boys outside and the next thing I knew, there was an arm in our window! Someone had been locked out and was trying to climb in then realised they had the wrong room! We were not impressed and they made so much noise when they did get in that Rachael went mad at them! Made them shut up though!
Thank goodness I am leaving there today, catching a bus to Auckland this afternoon and staying there for one night and heading to the Bay of Islands tomorrow x x x x
