I tried to venture out again by myself in Bangkok and settled on a metro pass as the easiest mode of transport. I got off a few stops from my hotel at Lumphini Park, which was huge and very very pretty. When I was taking refuge in the shade a guy came and started to chat to me, telling me about the lizards that live in the lake which look like crocodiles (sadly none came out of the water!). Overall, Thai people have been lovely, very friendly, chatty and helpful (and some very eccentric!)
In the evening I met the group I would be travelling with for the first time, all of whom were lovely. We went for some food opposite our hotel and I had my first taste of authentic Pad Tai which was delicious!! Out evening then involved a few drinks and tuk tuk racing through the streets of Bangkok, seeing some local 'entertainment' and finishing on the famous Koahsan Road for a bit of a dance. Overall, a great start!!

This morning a few of us visited the floating market just outside of the city, which was incredible. We took a boat around water ways which were almost as mental as the streets of Bangkok, full of things to buy and eat! Just an incredible place.
After a relaxing afternoon we headed to the station to board our sleeper train (which was surprisingly pleasant) which took us (after a truck ride) to Koh Sok.

Koh Sok National Park is paradise. We took a boat across the lake to some floating huts, which were fairly secluded and peaceful and were just stunning. We stayed here for the day and had some lovely fresh water fish for lunch, jumped in the water and went kayaking. I cannot explain how beautiful it is here, everyone should go (but not all at once it needs to stay peaceful!). When I was looking around I realised what all the long shifts, late nights and working for minimum wage was for. Worth it.
