Hey! time for a quick update. its been a few days since we last wrote on this so i'll be brief.
The Blue Mountains were very nice. We stayed in a nice hostel - we were in a little house out the back with it's own kitchen and stuff shared by about 4 rooms which was cool, and we ventured down the GIANT STAIRWAY!! I made that bold so it would sound impressive. This was about 800 steps down a 300m cliff face built by one man in about 1920s who obviously had too much time on his hands. this started by the 'three sisters' rock formation which you can look up on google if you want to know more.....
We headed back to sydney for another night in a different hostel, which was nicer, then onto to melbourne via the carbon producing airplane (apparently we're all to blame so i really should cut down...) and found another dump of a hostel which we had already paid for for two nights (i should be learning from this by now) but we manged to get a double room so it wasn't too bad in the end. we then had the best day ever on the neighbours tour where we met..................DR KARL KENNEDY. we actually got to touch the legend himself!! that was awesome, and we went to ramsey street and saw harold, bree and jannelle filming. so all good.
next we hired a car for the great ocean road, which was indeed great. saw the twelve apostle cliff formation thing at sunset, then some little penguins come home to roost! also saw some koalas, a possum, a kangaroo, a fox and a wild dog (which was a bit scary). also, we didn't booked our hostel ahead so everything was full, and we ended up in a 'spa cabin' at a campsite, which did indeed have a spa in a lovely little cabin (just don't ask how much it cost...). anway, back in melbourne now in a nice hostel and going to tasmania tomorrow where we're meant to be!
we'll be back soon with more news, keep posting on the message board!
love danny and katie xxx
