I set off this morning after a lie in for the Queen Victoria Markets which are supposedly some of the best in the World. After about a 15 minute walk through a fairly busy Melbourne I got there - they reminded me alot of the ones in Covent Garden just on a much bigger scale. Stall after stall sold all sorts of Aussie souvenirs - there was the off chavvy clothes stall and HUNDREDS of pairs of UGGS!!!!! :D The markets also had a food section and somehow I ended up in the meat and fish section - this doesn't smell any better in Australia than it does in England so I got out as quickly as possible! On one of the stalls where I bought something the guy serving me called me a "nice little pome sheila" - POME - Prisoner of Mother England, said like pomeeey. Could he get any more Australian! After a good lot of wandering around the market I headed for federation square which was a very modern "square" surrounded by pretty funky buildings. Melbourne is pretty modern and cool but I think I do prefer Sydney. Spent the rest of the afternoon sorting out Great Ocean Road and camper stuff with Louise and then I went for a wander down to the river when it started to rain.
