It has not stopped raining ALL day!!!!! I realised earlier that I hadnt written about my first experiences of a Ferg Burger yesterday! These burgers are something of a Legend in New Zealand and EVERYONE who has been to Queenstown has had atleast one! I had a "cockadoodledoo" a chickn burger with a bunch of other stuff in there too!!! It was HUGE and also AMAZING! I felt well and truly stuffed after eating it but I am pretty sure it was the best burger I have ever had! - It was more than just a burger and taking people's advice of not getting chips too was a good idea!!!! Today was time for Milford Sound - A must when you come to New Zealand - but apprently not so great when the weather isnt nice. So when I woke up to rain - and LOTS of it I wasn't best pleased! :( Had a new driver today - "Pork Chop" who took us on the 600km round trip! He was pretty aweosme!!!! The whole way to the ferry terminal it was raining there were apprently some pretty awesome views but because of the cloud and the steamed up widnows we weren't able to appreciate them! We stopped a couple of times for snapshots but it wasn't fun running off the bus trying to protect my camera from the rain taking a quick snap which looked rubbish because of the cloud and randrops blurring the lens and then running back onto the bus thinking - that was a pointless exercise and I am now wet! And yet I still got off at all three opportunities AND did the 15minute return walk to "The Chasm" This walk succeeded in getting me totally drenched - wearing jeans and pumps was starting to seem like a foolish idea! After some more driving with some AWESOME music coming form Pork Chops' iPod we reached a VERY long dark tunnel - all the lights were switched off and the music changed to "Mission Impossible" We did some mission impossible styley driving - very cool driver!!!!! We arrived at the ferry terminal boarded our very swish catermaran and everyone hit the hot buffet lunch!!!!!! Everyone went for atleast 2 helpings of PROPER FOOD!!!!!! The boat ride was a little choppy and because of the weather standing outside to look at the views wasnt too much fun but what I did see was pretty awesome - although not alot like the picture! Twice the boat drove it's nose almost right into a waterfall and the people stood on the deck got totally drenched! I made sure I was inside in the dry at this point!!!!
My did you knows have been pilling up so I am going to bombard you with three all at once!
When I was on the bus from Wanaka to Queenstown I crossed the 45th Parallel which means I become one of only 5% of the population who have gone into the bottom quatre of the globe - closer to the South Pole than the equator
There are 14 national parks in New Zealand and all 13 others can fit inside the largest one - Fjiordland National Park - which is the size of Wales!
An apple is 4 times more effective at waking you up than a cup of coffee!!!
