First full day in Sydney, after a morning of planning the next two months and talking to some travel agents I decided it was time to go explore!!! I wandered down to Darling Harbour (picture) to get there I had to walk through China Town and I felt VERY not Asian!!!! - Definately Outnumbered! Sydney couldn't be more different from anywhere in New Zealand so so busy and commercial I love it! It was pretty grey and cloudy but very warm :) In the Chinease Gardens park in Darling harbour there were these CRAZY birds they made a sound kind of like a duck but had long black legs a white body and beack which was about 20cm long, curved and rubbery. they STANK and were obviously not scared of humans because they were getting pretty close! My second night in Australia was possibly one of the best I have had since being away - definately on a par with my first in Fiji (where I drank sambuca and lemonade and watched the sunset from the roof while a Canadian guy played his mouth organ) I randomly got chatting to a girl in the lift and she asked if I fancied going out this evening, so along with her and two other lovely girls from my dorm we headed towards The Rocks in Sydney Harbour. 40minutes later when we weren't exactualy sure where we were headed Charloted pointed and was like "Is that the opera house?" - It was!!!!! CRAZY! I couldn't actually believe I was seeing it after seeing so manny photos of thes iconic building here I was looking at it in real life!!!!! It was lit up - an AMAZING BEAUTIFL STUNNING sight!!!! wow! we walked a little further and then the Harbour Bridge came into view also lit up - stunning again! Eventually we found ourselves in the Opera Bar which has got to be the most perfectly located bar I have ever been in! We decided to try and get a group photo with the bridge in the background - easier said than done there didn't seem to be any one around willing to take the picture so balancing all the cameras on a table we set the timers and then tried to look at the cameras in the right order!!!! It took about 5 attempts to get a photo that was s uccess with all four of us in it! I havn't laughed so much in ages all of us were in hysterics and still no one offered to take the photo!!!!!! Awesome evening - really enjoyed myself looking forward to another day in Sydney tomorrow!!!
