Had another pretty full on day today! I woke quite early after a dodgy nights sleep thanks to an orchestra of shoring, snorting and coughing coming from multiple people in the dorm last night!!!!! I set off for another walk today at about 9am. It was a really really beautiful morning with a clear blue sky but lovely cold crisp feeling. From Echo Point today I joined the Prince Henry Cliff Walk and followed this around the valley to Leura Cascades, here the path went down and into the forest where there were lots and lots of waterfalls! I walked a little way along the Federal Pass and then merged onto the Dardanelles Track which took me through a forest with lots of fallen down trees - I had to clamber of big fallen down trunks, duck under numerous branches and at one point take a total detour around a HUGE collapsed tree which was blocking the entire path. The track eventually led to the Giants Stairway and I was set to climb the 911 steps back up!!!! There were coachloads of Japanease Tourists and a group of Old Puffing and Panting Indian Men going down! So I had to stop a fair few times to let them all go past. By the time I got to the top my legs were very very jelly like and the drag back up the hill to the hostel felt very long and steep!
I left Katoomba on the train and at Blacktown had to catch a bus because of trackwork in Sydney which dragged the journey out a bit especially as we hit the centre of the city at rush hour! I am in a CRAZY quiet dorm today - saw one of the girls who I was sharing with she came in for about 2 minutes and didn't even acknowledge I was there!
