DAY 1
We finally arrived in hong kong after an 11 hour flight from the UK and met up with our tour guide at the airport who loaded us onto a bus and took us to the South Pacific Hotel in Hong Kong island. The journey took about 45mins, whilst it was great to see the sights driving over to hong kond island most of us were just glad to get on an air con bus with comfy seats and have a snooze!!
The Hotel was 3* (which we weren't expecting!) and some nice smiley men opened the doors for us as we stumbled in with our backpacks and dumped them in the middle of reception. After a little wait we got to our rooms and crashed out for a few hours before meeting everyone for our first night out together!!
We made our way through through the streets of hong kong to a pub with a load of aussies watching an aussie rules game, plonked ourselves down and ordered!! After a few drinks, some very spicy pasta and getting to know each other we moved on up the road to a bar called "The Bridge" - legendary place!!! Plenty of drinks later, some crackin pictures and a real laugh we ended up at "Carnegies" another crackin place which played some classic tunes!! After a few more beers and a dance on the bar (it was to whitney housten!!) we made our way back to the hotel!!
DAY 2
After last nights adventure a lot of us were feeling a little worse for where (so much so that having made my way to breakfast at about 9:30, one glass of orange juice later I was straight back to the room, lets just say to 'recover') At 2pm we met in reception for a tour of the city, many of us still feeling a little rough, where we visited a market, where we bought stamps with our names/ birth days in chinese (apparantly katie = princess ), went to a beach, and for a chinese meal in a very tall building!!! That night we all had recovered enough to hit the Bridge Bar again (where they gave us free food, because we spent so much on alcohol!) then onto Carnegies for a bit of a dance! Rounded off with a McDonalds and we were ready for bed!!
Day 3 After breakfast, we checked out of our rooms and headed to Times Square, for a look around (they have a Marks & Spencer) but it was way to hot, so we headed back to the hotel to wait for our bus which took us on a tour to a jade market, flower/bird market, budhist temple, then on to the airport for a 6 HOUR wait for our flight to Sydney - only another 8 hours and Im in Oz!!!!!!!!
