Hi all,
finally got onto a computer that can load this site so thought I'd update you all on our trip and wish you all a merry christmas and new year while I'm at it!
We have been in Africa for 8 weeks now, and we have travelled from Kenya to Uganda, to Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia and we are now in Botswana. We have decided to stay on another 3 weeks so that we are with friends over Christmas; so we go to Namibia tomorrow and then onto South Africa later in the week.
Each country in Africa is very different and we have seen some amazing things - highlights have to be the gorilla trekking in Uganda; lots of Safaris where we have seen all of the big 5 in the Masai Mara, Llongwe, Nakuru and Chobe - elephants, lions, leopard, rhino and buffalo; camping next to wild hippos; white water rafting on the Zambeezee (scariest thing I've ever done!); walking with Lions; Ngorogoro Crater Trip; Zanzibar; and pedalo on Lake Malawi. We have just spent 3 days / 2 nights bush camping in the Okavango delta which was awesome and very remote. The group we are with have been a great laugh and we are enjoying it very much!
Still to come are the sand dunes in Namibia, Swakorpmund and Cape Town. We will finish in Africa on 10th January in Joberg, then head to India where we will spend a few weeks before going to Nepal and back to the UK on 16th March for a wedding.
Anyway my internet time has run out so better go! It's very hot here and we are going to Nando's for dinner - a real treat rather than cooking at the camp site!!
Have a great christmas and new year,
lots of love,
Kathryn & Steve xx
